A charity screening of Saving Grace has raised £1,500 for Young & Talented Cornwall, The Lord Lieutenant’s Fund

The Cornish comedy-drama, created, written and produced by Mark Crowdy, was released in 2000 and returned to the big screen to mark the 25th anniversary of its release.

The sell-out screenings, introduced by Mark himself, took place over two evenings at The Regal Cinema in Wadebridge as part of the Polzeath Film Festival.

“Young & Talented Cornwall provides much-needed funding, encouragement and opportunity for young people across Cornwall, helping to ensure that financial, social and geographical barriers do not stand in the way of potential,” said Mark.

“I am hugely impressed by what the fund has achieved and delighted to support its work. My thanks go to Bill Bartlett, founder of the Polzeath Film Festival, and the Williams family at The Regal Cinema Wadebridge for making the screenings possible. It was wonderful to see Saving Grace back on the big screen.”

Saving Grace is available on Sky.
