Chloe’s Archery Success

Chloe has been awarded All Talent awards in 2022 and 2023 so that she could work toward making the national team for archery. A year later and Chloe’s had an amazing season with impressive performances in both national and international competitions.

At the beginning of the year, Chloe joined Archery GB for the European Cup in Bulgaria. Despite some wild weather that sent tents flying, she competed as part of a fantastic team and came home with two silver medals and a gold.

This year, Chloe stepped up to some senior competitions. At the Grand National Archery Meeting (GNAM), one of the oldest tournaments in the UK, she stood out as the youngest competitor and became the overall champion. Later, at the UK Masters, she beat her previous high score of 680, achieving 686 and 684, placing her sixth overall. Although her head-to-head matches were tough, she matched the national record with an incredible score of 148 out of 150.

Chloe says her favorite moment of the season came when she traveled to Romania for the European Youth Championships. Facing scorching temperatures of 40 degrees and unpredictable winds, she and her teammates earned silver medals in both the team and mixed team events. When it came to the individual rounds, Chloe faced a familiar opponent from Bulgaria but aimed for gold this time. With the final arrow on the line, she needed a ten to win—and she got it. This achievement was celebrated by all her coaches and supporters who had been with her throughout her journey.

Back home, Chloe represented the Devon and Cornwall teams at various junior and senior events, which she enjoyed immensely. These experiences helped her improve her skills and connect with others in the archery community.

Now that her outdoor season is finished, Chloe is looking forward to a trip to the Netherlands, upcoming national indoor competitions, and more training sessions with Archery GB. All of this will prepare her to represent Great Britain at the World Youth Championships in Canada next year.

Chloe said, “I would like to thank all the help and support from my parents, Archery GBcompound team, Young and Talented Cornwall, #sportaid, Wales Archery Specialists, Stuart’s Archery Products – SAP, Andrew Thatcher, North Cornwall Linen Bowmen of Wadebridge Devon and Cornwall Archery Society grant morris soper and my local village of Lanivet.”

Chloe’s dedication and accomplishments this season are inspiring. We can’t wait to see where her talent takes her next!
