Rozen’s Golden Return to the Top

With the support of Young & Talented Cornwall, Rozen has enjoyed an incredible return to competition, proving that determination and resilience can overcome even the toughest setbacks.

Last year, Rozen was forced to miss out on defending her English titles after an unexpected bout of appendicitis. It was a disappointing setback, but one that only strengthened her determination to come back stronger.

Thanks to funding from Young & Talented Cornwall, Rozen was able to travel to Cardiff to compete in the Welsh Open Championships. The financial support helped cover the costs of attending the event, giving her the opportunity to compete against some of the UK’s most talented martial artists.

Rozen entered multiple categories, taking on competitors up to 17 years old and weighing up to 10kg more than her. Throughout the weekend, she faced experienced opponents, including multiple championship winners and world title holders.

Displaying exceptional skill, discipline and courage, Rozen won every one of her fights, returning home with an outstanding seven gold medals and seven Welsh titles.

Just as importantly, Rozen was recognised for her sportsmanship, conduct and politeness throughout the competition, reflecting the values she brings to the sport both on and off the mat.

This remarkable achievement follows her recent success in reclaiming four English titles, marking an incredible comeback after last year’s disappointment. With her confidence restored and her place rising in the Great Britain rankings, Rozen is now looking ahead to the next round of competitions.
