Y&TC Alumni becomes World Indoor Champion

Posted on 6th March 2024 by

Molly Caudery, Y&TC alumni and Olympic qualifying pole vaulter, has become world indoor champion for the women’s pole vault at the World Athletics Indoor Championships held in Glasgow earlier this month and now has her sights on becoming the first British woman to win Olympic Gold in her category!

“Growing up in Cornwall made me who I am – it makes you a little bit tougher. There wasn’t much in the way of facilities, but I still had the support I needed. We trained outside all winter. If we did want to go indoors, we’d drive three or four hours in the car to Bath.”

Molly received funding from Young & Talented Cornwall back in 2013, 2014, and again in 2017 enabling her to purchase new equipment and to cover travel costs.
